Celestial Rust’s Take On Toxicity and Server Rules
As of recently, Celestial Rust across both PvE and PvP has seen an increase in player reports for toxicity, griefing, hate speech and overall rule breaking.
Let us be very clear, Celestial Rust has a zero-tolerance policy on any form of hate speech, intentional griefing, death threats and breaking our rules. We welcome all players to our servers, regardless of age, sex, race or religion.
When it comes to hate speech, this includes but is not limited to; racism, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, slurs, stereotyping and much more.
If we see a player, or get reports of a player partaking in any form of hate speech they are permanently banned from all Celestial Rust servers, no questions asked. Sometimes, this may extend down to their team mates. At the end of the day, you’re playing with that person – if you’re not going to correct their behaviour then you are also part of the problem.
Now, there seems to be confusion on what is classed as toxicity. Some players seem to think playing the game is classed as toxic.
Our outlook on this is simple. If you’re constantly being abusive over voice chat or text chat, threatening players or just being a dick in general, this would be toxic.
Simply playing the game, raiding people’s bases is not toxic.
We’ve had false reports of players being toxic, simply because they were raiding bases on our PvP servers.
In the event that a player is being toxic over voice chat, all players are required to provide evidence. Without evidence, no action can be taken. Steam has a built in recording feature, so there’s no need to setup any external recording service.
Griefing is mainly a problem on our PvE servers. It seems like there’s people that just join the servers for the sake of ruining other people’s experience.
Our PvE servers are the most popular servers and almost always have the largest player count. So, naturally there will be more problems and reports.
The biggest thing we see coming from PvE is players stealing other players loot. In the instance you steal someone else’s loot, you will be given one opportunity to return said loot, if you fail to comply or answer the admins back you will be banned across all PvE servers.
We have means of seeing what loot has been accessed by who, so just because there’s no admins or mods actively on the server at the time, don’t think you’ll get away with it.
Our conclusion on all of this is;
No matter what preventative measures are put in place, everything mentioned above will inevitably happen. We accept this.
However, we want to make Celestial Rust a community where anyone can come and enjoy Rust, whether that be by relaxing on our PvE servers or by competing with people on PvP.
Don’t be fooled though, we do not have the time nor energy to argue with you. This is why our rule across all servers is “Do not argue with admins”. If action has been taken against you, this is because of evidence submitted or gathered. We will not waste our time arguing your case.
